Manchester City take on Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium today in the second instalment of Super Sunday. City will be hoping to edge closer to Premier League glory while Chelsea have aims of closing the gap between them and the top four.
High-flying Manchester City come into this game after two 3-0 victories over struggling Arsenal, one of those wins came in the Carabao Cup final. They have still lost only once in the league and have been given a huge boost by the return of Vincent Kompany who looks healthy and confident.
Chelsea haven’t been in great form, they have only won four of their last ten Premier League outings. They now sit five points adrift from the top four so they will have to try and get a positive result from today’s game.
Last time they met
The last time these sides met was back in September when City claimed all three points at Stamford Bridge. The match-winning goal came from Kevin De Bruyne who caused Chelsea all kinds of problems.
It was the perfect away performance from City and it set the tone for the fantastic run they have been on since.
Manchester City are on an impressive 26-match unbeaten run at home in the Premier League. Actually, the last time they lost at home in the league was against Chelsea back in December of 2016.
I cannot see Chelsea repeating that feat today as City are much improved and so much stronger. The return of Vincent Kompany has given the team a boost (Not that they needed it) and I think it will be a routine win for the sky blues.
Predicition: Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea
