PREVIEW | Atlanta United vs LAFC

The first game on Saturday sees Atlanta United host MLS new-boys LAFC at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in what should be an entertaining encounter between two attack-minded teams.

Atlanta come into this game having won their last three games, bouncing back valiantly after that poor 4-0 defeat away at Houston on the opening day of the season. Last time out, they beat Minnesota United 1-0 on the road in a game where an own-goal separated the two teams.

LAFC have had a good start to their first MLS campaign to be fair. In their first two games they were victorious on the road against both Seattle Sounders and Real Salt Lake. However in their last game, against LA Galaxy, they were shell shocked by a dramatic second half come back, inspired by star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Bob Bradley’s men found themselves 0-3 up against the Galaxy after 48 minutes and it looked like it was going to be a routine and impressive win to keep their 100% record going. Although, Zlatan had different plans. On his debut, the Swede scored from distance to equalise, before heading in the eventual winner in stoppage time.

One thing that is guaranteed in this game on Saturday is goals. These two sides are probably the two best attacking sides in the league, it’s the only way they know how to play. LAFC’s first three games in MLS have seen 14 goals and Atlanta United have scored eight times in their last three.

Prediction

Both teams will score in this game. They have bags of talent going forward and they both know where the net is. However, both sides are vulnerable and can be questioned defensively. I fancy Atlanta to carry on their strong home form and to make it three wins from three at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium this season.

Atlanta United 3-1 LAFC
