AWARD | MLShocker wins Best International Football Blog at TheFBAs

On the 25th April, Major League Shocker was announced as a finalist in the Best International Football Blog category with TheFBAs. And last Thursday, at the awards ceremony, MLShocker was handed the award voted by the judges.

I didn’t for one second believe that I would be travelling down to Alexandra Palace in London to pick up the award. Winning the award came as a huge surprise as I came up against some fantastic, and strong competition. It was an honour to be named alongside blogs such as SempreInter, Football Paradise and OrlandoCityUK.

The category in general was extremely strong.

I started MLShocker in 2016 as a mini project to go alongside my university sports journalism degree and I am amazed at how things have gone so far. I have built up a large following of friendly and intelligent MLS fans who welcome my opinions with open arms, and I appreciate it so much.

I run the website and twitter account solely, and I really enjoy doing so. However, I would like to pay tribute to a few people who have helped me create content along the way. Including Joseph Lowery, Antoine Latran and Matt Coles. Top lads, thank you!

In regards of the future… I will be continuing to do what I have always done, providing a British perspective on this wonderful league called Major League Soccer. And I will be looking to provide more content for everyone on various other platforms, this is something I will be working on over the summer.

Lastly, I would just like to thank everyone who has followed me over the last couple of years, and even those that have only recently followed. The account has grown fairly quickly, and Major League Soccer is one of the fastest-growing leagues. It is exciting and something I really want to be a part of.

I can’t wait to see what the future brings.
