Atlanta United’s talented 16-year-old defender, George Bello, is the subject of Premier League interest from Chelsea and Manchester City with both clubs ready to swoop, according to reports.
The teenager made his Major League Soccer debut just last weekend when he came off the bench during Atlanta’s 3-1 defeat against the resurgent D.C. United.
Born in Nigeria, the youngster moved to the United States with his family at a young age and has gone on to represent the USA at U16 and U17 level.
It is thought that Bello started out playing as a forward before being transformed into a more than useful left-back.
Everton are also reportedly interested but it isn’t just English clubs that have shown interest. Genoa, Roma and Schalke are believed to be tracking the situation.
According to Calciomercato, Pep Guardiola has already enquired about the possibility of signing Bello, so Manchester City may already be in the box seat for his signature.
