LA Galaxy star Zlatan Ibrahimovic is attracting interest from struggling Real Madrid, according to Cadena Cope in Spain.
The 37-year-old has been magnificent since his return from injury and his arrival in Major League Soccer, netting an impressive 22 goals in 27 appearances taking the Galaxy to the brink of snatching a playoff spot.
The reports linking Ibrahimovic with a return to La Liga come nearly a decade after he left Barcelona due to his relationship with the Catalan club and then manager Pep Guardiola going sour.
The Swede scored 16 goals in 29 appearances during a two-year stay at Barcelona which included a loan spell with AC Milan.
Real Madrid are in the midst of a terrible run of form, losing four of their last five games and they have been struggling to find the back of the net. In their latest defeat against Levante, they set a new club record as they went 481 minutes without scoring a goal.
Los Blancos are in desperate need of goals and Zlatan might be the man able to provide a short-term fix. Madrid would have to wait a little longer as LA Galaxy look set to make the post-season – but if their interest is serious – they would be able to make a move in January when the MLS season has come to its conclusion.
